CITY OF HUNTSVILLE PLAN REVIEW SYSTEM

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR A PLAN REVIEW SUBMISSION

To submit a plan submission, please create an account using the link below in the “Getting Started Links” area. Before beginning the online process for a plan submission, be certain to complete all required forms and have all plans ready to upload in a PDF format. Once a project has been submitted for review, you will receive an automatic email confirming a successful plan submission. The online system includes the building permit application needed internal of the system. Applicants may login into the portal at any time to check the project status, marked-up plan sets, correspondence, and project documents. After each review cycle, applicants may download the comments letter and marked-up plans. Upon plan approval, the "Ready for Issuance" email notification will be sent out. Follow the directions in this email on how and what is needed to pick up the permit.

NEED TO KNOW

  • For faster review times we recommend submitting a civil plan review as a separate plan review submittal from a building plan review submittal.
  • All uploaded documents must be in PDF format. Uploading documents of any other format will result in your application being returned as incomplete.
  • PDF documents created with security options are NOT supported for use with the plan review system. DO NOT upload secured PDF documents or secured digital signatures on professional seals into your plan review submission.
  • If you receive the project back as “Needing Corrections” – when you are ready to resubmit revisions, DO NOT DELETE any existing uploaded files in the system. Upload all new file revisions over the original file submitted so that a revision is reflected in the revision column (to the right of each file), instead of uploading the revision as an additional document.
  • Deleting documents may require a full re-submission of your project's plan for review.
  • When submitting revised plans, upload the entire set that was requested with changes and not just the individual revised pages.
  • The “Project Invitations -> Invite User” feature is great for project submitters to use in conjunction with team members.
  • Documentation cannot exceed 50 megabytes per file.

REQUIRED PLAN SUBMISSION NAMING PATTERN & DEATAILS

  • To upload files, follow the general upload process in the user guide for detailed directions. The upload process takes several steps to complete a successful file upload.
